Derek Boateng in January?
By: klaus | December 29th, 2008With reports circulating that Derek Boateng will be a part of Christoph Daum’s lineup after the break, FC Köln sporting director Michael Meier cleared-up the matter stating on the clubs web-site:
“All we have agreed at this point is that the player wants to join us on July 1st 2009. We’ve made Beitar Jerusalem an offer with the aim of getting Boateng to Köln on the first of January, which would give him a half-season to get used to the ways of the Bundesliga. But there is still a wide gap to be bridged regarding our positions on the particulars of the transfer”,
The Ghana international presently is with the Arcadi Gaydamak owned Beitar Jerusalem of the Israeli Premier League. His present club has yet to issue a statement on the matter.
