our captain is coming home
By: klaus | January 19th, 2009
The time has finally come and our captain, Lukas Podolski is coming home. Although we will have to wait to the summer before he leaves Bayern, all of Köln can rejoice and await his triumphant return home.
Details of the arrangement have not been released however the common speculation is that it will require a total payment of €10m, with €7.5m in cash and the other amounts from receipts of two friendlies.
From the start of this situation to the very end, it has always been about following his heart and coming home to Köln where his career started. After the formal announcement Köln president Wolfgang Overath said it best, “I’m happy Lukas is coming back to us. He has followed his heart.”

Best part about this is that it makes room for landycakes on Bayern’s first team

I’m a Bayern fan AND Poldi fan. I’m sorry to see him go, I totally understand and wish him the best. He’s an x-factor on the field and I expect Koln to move up the table next year with his presence. Best of luck prinz Poldi, we’ll see you in South Africa, Hopefully holding the Pokal!!
It pains me to see a German National be replaced by a MLS “star”, WTF kind of credential is that!? landycakes will make no greater an impact than Schlaudraff did.

Furthermore, If Klinsi is going to have him ride the bench the rest of the season, GIVE HIM TO KOLN NOW!! He needs match time in preparation for the 2010 WM
